Q: How many donut shops will be participating?
A: The total number is TBD--you'll get a roughly 1/4 of a donut serving size sample from each participant. Pace yourself! Oh, and we'll have coffee samples too. You'll get tickets for those as well. You will be able to purchase donuts to take home and larger coffees from participating vendors that have items on sale.
Q: Isn't it unhealthy to promote the mass-consumption of deep-fried goods?
A: This is a fun fest to raise money for charity one day out of the year. We believe in healthy eating and moderation. Treat yo' self.
Q: Can I bring my kids?
A: Because of the amount of tickets sold and the size of the event space, no strollers will be allowed. Children are allowed to attend but must have tickets to enter, regardless of age.
Q: Will you be serving any booze at the fest?
A: Nope, just coffee and donuts. You can drink at the bar at Chop Shop.
Q: Where and when is the fest?
A: The 2016 fest will be held on January 31th at 1st Ward. The date for ticket sales will be announce shortly
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Ticket information for the 2016 fest will be announce shortly
Every ticket will also help support Chicago's own Un86'd.
Q: How long does it last?
A: Hours for this year's fest will be announced shortly.
Q: Is anything besides donuts and coffee going on there?
A: Sure there is! In addition the the tastings from each shop of their signature donut (included in your ticket price), you'll be able to purchase donuts to take home from vendors that are selling on-site. There will be fun. There will be voting. There will be jamz. And a bunch of other stuff, too. We'll announce it here as we go.
Q: Can my restaurant or bakery participate?
A: If your restaurant is interested in participating in 2016, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Q: I have a group who wants to attend together, can we do group sales?
A: Available tickets will be first-come, first-serve when sales are announced and there are no group sales. Sign up for our mailing list on our contact page to get the latest information.
Q: I consider myself a donut aficionado, how can I be considered to judge Donut Fest?
A: Unfortunately, we have put together a full cast of extremely qualified judges. But all ticket holders at the fest get to vote for crowd favorite, so really, everyone's a judge!
